Poem 154: Prelude to in Pusuit of Reflective/Responsive Surfaces

A man made entirely of flowers stands in a greenly shadowed doorway.
The pre-dominant flowers in his make-up are lily-of-the-valley, morning glories poppies, bluebells, and clematis. His face has all the usual features. His eyes appear as deep pools of radiant darkness. He smells of plant life and freshly turned earth. His lips are quite obviously made of rose petals. He leans against one of the portals of the door, it, and the surrounding wood work is made from very old dark oak. The surfaces are intricately carved with interwoven tendrils and leaves. Behind the man of flowers there is a doorway that leads into a garden. The garden is bathed in moonlight. In the centre of the garden is a sundial, it is made from white marble. The pointer is a black angel with unfolded wings. The moonlight passing through the breeze awakened leaves of the trees gives the impression that the angels wings are moving. For your appreciation of
silences, light and darkness, bright shadows, cascading colours and
the language of surfaces and tensions that keep all beings so gloriously
connected, he will let you pass.
